From Bohol, I went on a ferry to Cebu, then RORO to Bacolod, then ferry to Iloilo, then van to Antique.. where mountains meet the sea.
I know its a long journey right? It is worth noticing the changes of language and intonation and landscapes of the land.. I’m smelling the roses because time is my ally at the moment :P
I’ve been here a few times because this is my dad’s birthplace… although haven’t explored much because I was always stuck with family gatherings.
Not much has been said to promote tourism in the place which is also great because Antique is retaining its real natural beauty, untouched by materialistic society.
So far, these are my activities (and I encourage you to do some of it when you are in Antique)
1. Bonded with my Auntie who makes the perfect pochero and bonded with my niece who’s now a pretty 14 year old lady (time fries!!)
2. Interviewed folks on how to make sea salt.. video to be posted soon.
3. Coffee hunting in San Jose, Antique.
4. Farm talk with Auntie, the Dept of Agriculture are giving seminars to folks here so this is a great opportunity to snoop around and compare what I’ve learned in Thailand to what are being taught in the grassroots here
5. Catch up on my readings
6. Scouting for online projects at the same time
Tomorrow Im going to little baguio so looking forward to that.. I’ll be updating this post often and ill be here till month ends so lemme know if you’re near the area. I’d love to show you around ^_^

I guess that usually happens when we visit our parents’ hometowns. We don’t have enough time left for wandering cause we’re stuck with family (but that ain’t really a bad thing). Hihi. I’m pretty interested with the coffee hunting!
not really a bad thing being stuck with family specially when you are being fed like a baby :))… only one coffee shop in town, coffee craze at Eagle’s Inn.. not bad (coz its the only coffee shop with free WIFI ive seen so far xD)… this place needs some prepping up so travelers can also enjoy the mountains, the sea and everything in between.. but as of the moment, this will remain as my hidden paradise ^_^
It is nice to go back to the place where we can find our roots…. kahit na medyo wala masyadong gala… worth it parin =)…. ang saya nung ginawa mo hindi ko alam pero i am a fan of long…. travels like that… feeling ko kase ang layo layo ko na…. =)
syempre dapat lang na lumingon sa pinanggalingan ;).. anyway, im a fan of long laidback journeys specially if you’ll notice the change of languange, features of people, landscape changes, etc.. ^_^ nakakatuwa.. sana lang lahat ng tao can have the chance to stop and smell the roses
