I walk into a geek computer club last tuesday. I think I can count the number of women in the room to about 4 while men are around 20. . and I’m the youngest as well *scratch head*
So where art thou, pretty IT geeks? Are you hiding behind that laptop? Don’t be shy, life is too short to be anti social all the time.
Today, I was talking to an IT guy and asked his personal opinion why girls in IT specially those in the admin and software development are not that many and he says that technology is detrimental to your health and takes away lots of your personal time for human interaction.. which not many women are so keen into.
Well.. if you see and know me in my past life, I have to agree.
But of course there must be a way to eradicate this type of thinking.. because if IT is dominated by men… then what will happen to gender equality? I’m sure life can be much more easier if technology gadgets are invented by pretty geeks who wants everyone to be pretty (and handsome) too. ^_^
